"Journey To The Center Of The....State."

So, we went to Conway for the first time in nearly a year. It was a great visit! Jordyn had a blast with Nana. I believe she will really be looking forward to going to Nana's house next time.
Can we go to Nana's please??

What? We are going?

Don't mess around about this... Are we?

Oh yeah!! Goin to Nana's!

Although we do not miss Conway, at all, it was nice to see Alvin's family. We are constantly reminded of God's faithfulness to us and are hopeful and confident that He will do the same in those that we love so dearly.

Isa 59:1-3 ESV Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear; (2) but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.

Isa 59:21 ESV "And as for me, this is my covenant with them," says the LORD: "My Spirit that is upon you, and my words that I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouth of your offspring, or out of the mouth of your children's offspring," says the LORD, "from this time forth and forevermore."

Will you be my Valentine, Jordyn?

1Co 13:7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
While the world is celebrating man-centered love through the endless purchasing of flowers and processed sugars, we hope to teach Jordyn that intense love for man finds its Genesis in a intense love for God. Love for God must precede love for man for it to be genuine; for God is Love. All other forms are merely shadows of true love. Let us not forget why or how we love men and God.
1Jn 4:19 We love because he first loved us.

Theme of the Week: Valentines
Shape of the Week: Heart
Color of the Week: Red
Transfering

Day 1
heart erasers (transferring), gluing hearts, heart coloring sheet
First time with erasers.

The glue stick MONSTER!

This was the longest we have spent on a Tot Tray!:)

First time with colored pencils, but preferred the markers.

Say hello to her new 'SMILE' face.

Day 2
pom poms, dot painting, tissue paper and contact paper

She took handed the lid to me and said 'red.' Yay!

This activity got her attention, its like stickers but opposite!

Our finished product mounted on the window led to much practice saying the word 'heart.'

Day 3
Stickers, Matching, Playdough

She was sooooo sweet!

Fine motor.

All she wanted to do was just EAT THEM.

Day 4
Foam Hearts and Glue, stringing with pipe cleaners, tape and paper

She wanted to glue--that's it!

We are still working on a 'sweet' smile.

Yes she was crying!

She got in all these different positions in order to do this activity, I loved watching her mind work.

Day 5, Valentine's Day, we only did a Sensory Bin.

The base is colored dyed rice (Kool Aid and rubbing alcohol). It smells AMAZING!

I kept trying to talk about the items, but she was so into this bin she didn't speak for 15 minutes. HAHA

Letter Sounds

We thought Jordyn (16.5 months old) knew letter sounds for A, B, and possibly D. Sitting around singing 'the A says....ahh' song we learned that she knew a lot more. So we pulled out the camera. She was able to name the sounds for A, B, D, S, T, and P. Later, (at bath time) we learned that she also knows letters E, L, and N. We attribute this to her LeapFrog Letter Factory DVD and her LeapFrog Singing Magnets on the refrigerator! Music is going to be a great learning tool for Jordyn.

Tot Trays Week 2!

I promised more pictures, this week, so here they are!

Day 1
ABC puzzle, gluing (vocab: 'purple' and 'square'), sock matching (NOT a Jordyn favorite)

A little distracted with the cap.

Day 2
Purple things, Fine motor with magnets, Dot Painting on scrap paper

She has really improved with this fine motor activity.

What a face.

This is her when we say 'smile!'

She likes dot painting, but REALLY loves pens.

Day 3
'Who lives here' game, stacking/sorting, finger painting (purple)

She loves this toy.

The white rabbits are her favorite. In fact, she has hidden them all over the house.

And the finger painting begins!

She is always so careful. I actually had to rub her hands all in it.

She got really excited and then things got a little crazy. We probably will not be doing much finger painting until she understands not to put her hands on her clothes, for example.
This is how we ended.

HERE ARE SOME EXTRAS FROM THE WEEK...

She did every sticker by herself.

Here is how we found Jordyn watching her favorite movie 'A Bug's Life.' This is one way to use her rocking chair her Auntie Cindy and Uncle Ron got her!!!!!!
I left the room to get ready for church on Sunday, and this is exactly how I found her. Welcome to the next stage 'climbing on furniture.'

Well, the Lord has really grown her in the last few weeks. Watching how she changes even points to Christ, as she grows she looks more and more like us (Alvin and I), and as we grow we should look more and more like Him. All things point to Him, even the nature of the development of a human being. He truly sustains His creation.

For by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-all things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.
Collosians 1:16-17
