Doc McStuffins Fun!!

If you haven't ever watched Doc McStuffins you should! We do not have cable so we would not have known about it, except that it is everywhere. We have enjoyed the DVD I got her for Christmas. This gave me the idea to set up a Doc McStuffins theme in the school room. It was perfect timing really. I say it is perfect timing because she had pinkeye and we had to administer EYEDROPS. She pretended she was our patient, and we were her doctor. We sang the "time for your checkup song" all the time. She was soooo excited (not about the eyedrops though). I found the pintables on my favorite blog I follow. (1plus1plus1equals1.com)

Winter FUN

It's January!!!
For the month of January we are enjoying many activities. Check out our pictures of crafts, winter themed baths, playdoh fun, water coloring, winter window art, and sensory bin fun. We did so many wintery things except play in REAL SNOW....Where is all the snow we were projected to get?  Oh well, Alvin's calendar for school has him getting out before the end of May, if there is no snow... WOOOHOO!

WINTER THEME

Do you want to hug a snowman?
Jordyn did.

The penquin on the left poops candy. It was perfect timing with potty training Jordyn.

The eyes are a little crazy.

We placed a large piece of contact paper on the window.
The is our set up for the Winter Art.

This was great for gross motor. She had to stand up and sit
down many times in order to place the items high on the window.

WINTER ART

Sensory Bin! The Styrofoam falls just like snow!

I love books that point to God.
And even if they don't, directly, we always reference His work in everything.

Do you want to build a snowman?
Jordyn did!

Our "Snowflakes in Shapes" Book

I hot glued the snowflakes onto the cardstock

Our Snowmen (Jordyn's on the left, Mine on the right, )

Homeschool Weeks 18 and 19

Letters R and S!!!   Wow we are getting close to the end of our Tot School Printables (free online curriculum). After we finish. Our timeline for the upcoming months ahead looks like this:
  •    Finish Tot School Printables the last week in Feb.
  •    Begin Animals ABCs (uppercase) April 6th. Along with a new bible curriculum called Raising Rock   Stars, and our bought curriculum for reading called All About Reading Pre-level.
  •    In between Feb. and April we will do an 'Alphabet Theme' and a 'Numbers Theme'   reviewing.
  •    We will see how the new bible curriculum goes and will probably continue our ABCJesusLovesMe and RRSP, which means 2 bible curriculums at once which may be confusing for both her and me. We will see...
  • Immediately following Animal ABCs uppercase letters we will do the lowercase letters. (1 per week), also doing the AAR lowercase letters at the same time.
I am really really excited about our upcoming curriculums in April. I have prepared most of the materials and am still looking for a ZEBRA HAND PUPPET if anyone comes across one let me know. It needs to be able to move its mouth (because we will be working on syllables). I already know what curriculum I will use for her year 3, 4, and 5. I will do a post on that later.

WEEK 18
Letter R    R is for Rainforest
Theme: Rainforest Animals
Bible Theme: The Lord is my Shepard.

OUR NEW CALENDAR TIME!
January 1st we implemented a new item to our daily routine. We do Calendar Time Now. The only handouts she will do with it for now is her Do-A-Dot Calendar Pages. She loves the new songs we sing for the Days of the Week, Months of the Year, the Date song, and the Weather Song. Here is a look into her Calendar Notebook.

Adding the number 7 to the calendar.

With ABC Jesus Loves Me, we are talking about Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my Shepard.
Here is one of the many Lamb activities we have done.

We are also still using many parts of the curriculum for our Praise Time, like our number of the week. We added 6 apples to our apple tree.
1:1 Correspondence is still hard for her.

WEEK 19
Letter S   S is for Star
Theme: small "Outer Space" theme.
Bible Theme: The Lord is my Shepard.

She is tracing the letter S...incorrectly. But still tracing haha
This page was for stickers but she was more interested in the white crayon on the black paper.

We were finger painting, but I left the door open to the closet and she saw the sponge brush.
Blue Clear, Blue Clear
Patterning

Here are our Sheep/Shepard books for our Bible Theme. These were always all over the house.
